First Nations Involvement

Victoria and the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun (FNNND) signed a Comprehensive Cooperation and Benefits Agreement (CBA) on October 17, 2011.

The CBA replaced an earlier Exploration Cooperation Agreement, and applies to the development and operations of the Eagle Gold Mine and all the exploration activities conducted by Victoria Gold anywhere in FNNND Traditional Territory south of the Werneke mountains which includes all of Victoria's existing mineral exploration properties. The Eagle Gold Mine is located 85 km north of the Village of Mayo and within the Traditional Territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun.

Victoria has developed procurement and recruitment policies that reflect our commitment to working with the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun (FNNND), communities and local business. Our business procurement and recruitment policies will ensure that our hiring and contracting activities are completed in a comprehensive, consistent, and transparent manner and reflective of commitments defined in the CBA. To help us identify NND and Yukon based business we are working with the FNNND to develop a human resources and business registries.

Victoria Gold / FNNND CBA Scholarship Program

Victoria Gold / FNNND CBA Scholarship Program

As part of the Comprehensive Cooperation and Benefits Agreement (CBA), Victoria Gold Corp. (Victoria) and the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun (FNNND) have established a scholarship program to support Na-Cho Nyak Dun citizens attending university, college or trades and technical courses full time. The funds may be used for tuition, school supplies and equipment, rent, food, day care and/or transportation costs.

The Victoria Gold / FNNND CBA Scholarship Program accepts applications twice a year: in August for the Fall semester, and in November for the Winter semester.

Due to the current wildfire situation, the Victoria Gold / FNNND CBA Scholarship Program application deadline has been extended.  The revised date will be provided once determined.
